All over the world, storage technologists and battery pioneers are looking for ways to store renewable energy. From developing fast batteries to storing heat in basalt and salt.
The development of renewable energy generation is moving fast, but one of the biggest challenges of the energy transition is storage. Efficient and effective storage is necessary to cope with peaks and troughs in solar and wind power generation. All over the world, storage engineers and battery pioneers are looking for ways to store renewable energy. From developing high-speed batteries to storing heat in basalt and salt. And from the use of iron powder as an energy carrier to gigantic block towers that store and release energy by hoisting concrete blocks. VPRO Documentary explores the new storage possibilities.
