The cool thing about mercedes-AMG cars is the story of how they come to show up in front of you.
True AMG cars are 1 of 1 - not because they’re made to order, but because they’re hand built by an exclusive group of engineers in AMG HQ in Affalterbach, Germany.
AMG is the only brand to do this, but with elite company like McLaren and the GTR - it says something about this practice - shoot Aston Martin has decided to stop building their own engines and would rather source engines through AMG - they’re that good

All of that is to say that you can tell an AMG is a true AMG because on the engine cover there will be a signature...and guess what we have on our engine cover [thank mechanic]

2.0 twin scroll turbo makes 382 hp and 354 lbft, peak power comes at 6500 rpm, while maximum torque comes alive from 4750 to 5000 rpm. You can get a more affordable and less powerful GLA35
Now there is quite some complexity that went into the layout of the engine bay for this M139 engine, but the main take away is that the reconfiguration optimized airflow to feed this engine's appetite for oxygen and aid the cooling macaniches as well.
In other countries you can get a A45s with the same motor tuned to 416
So you can tune this thing pretty reliably
As it stands you still get 60 in just about 4 seconds (conflicting numbers)
When the last generation GLA45 came out with the 2.0T it made the most power per liter of any car on sale

Transmission
8 speed DCT - which is new and smoother than the 7 speed DCT you got in the last gen

Dynamics
Tires: continental 255x35 with 21 inch wheels
AWD
Torque vectoring rear differential - twin clutch - 100% of torque to one side
Sound familiar? (acura SHAWD)
Well it’s different - Acura overdrives their rear wheels to fake RWD (explain)
That’s not happening here so this car is inherently FWD biased
It can send UP TO 50% engine power to the rear
6 piston front brakes are massive and great

Dive planes on the front bumper
Fake plastic intakes
21 inch wheels...i mean they look great, but at what cost
Plastic cladding
Big ass rear wing - love it
Quad tips - circular, not trapezoidal - cuz no V8
Overall impressions*

Interior Design:
new /current interior design w/ MBUX
Means design wise it looks very modern, but build feels cheaper
Thin screens
HVAC controls
All th buttons feel kinda cheap - except steering wheel
Gear selector is column mounted compared to center console, and this isnt a huge deal but
There is a psychological connection between the act of moving a substantial shift lever and the mechanical things occurring in the drivetrain. Toggling something as dinky as a turn signal stalk to unleash massive horsepower feels less authentic, even if all of these controls are purely electronic by now
Optional recaro seats - they look awesome

Does this come with Dynamic plus package
6 drive modes
Master setting allows to enter a controllable drift
Adaptive dampers
Larger front breaks (6 pistons calibers vs 4 pot binders)

Tech/Features:
MBUX - we could do a whole video on this
Heated/cooled front seats
This is a 75k car and no 360 camera
Ambient lighting
ACP & AA
