In this i am trying to explain you that how to prepare Method Statement for Splicing, Jointing and Termination.
Pre-installation Activities:

 Ensure that all relevant documents have been approved by Saudi Aramco prior to commencing Splicing and Termination and that the latest revisions of IFC drawings, specifications including approved procedures are disseminated to concerned personnel who will carry out the work.
 Ensure that workmen who will perform the MV Cable splicing & termination are certified for the specific voltage to be performed. This certification should be current and shall be approved by ARAMCO.
 Cable splicers/ Terminators upon request shall carry a copy of their valid ITD-issued certificates and JCC while working on the power cable as per GI 0002.705 paragraph 4.6 and SAEP-1150 paragraph A.21.
 Confirm all drawings/documents are the latest revision.
 Check materials for damage before transporting to work rea. All materials of doubtful condition or quality shall be immediately segregated from the job site.
 Ensure safety barriers are erected at designated work area.
 For high elevation installation, ensure adequate scaffold ladders and access ways are available at the work location.
 Ensure that cables and wires coiled inside equipment are protected until terminations are made.
 Ensure that termination, splicing materials, tools, and equipment needed to complete the work are available at designated splicing and termination area.
SPLICING(JOINTING) ON MEDIUM VOLTAGE CABLE

 Check and confirm the size, types, and quantities of approved splicing materials are available and meet the requirements of the project specifications.
 Check and verify the cable tag numbers, actual routing and termination point against the IFC drawings.
 Use the approved splicing kit materials (Follow the vendor installation instruction for the MV cable splicing procedure)
 Following completion of the cable splicing, submit "Request for Inspection" (RFI) to site QC Section including indicating scheduled time/ date for inspection.

MEDIUM VOLTAGE CABLE TERMINATION

 Check and confirm the size, types, and quantities of approved termination materials are available and meet the requirements of the project specifications.
 Check and verify the cable tag numbers, actual routing and termination point against the IFC drawings.
 Check the cable on which termination is to be made.
 Place the cable in position on the cable box bottom plate and fasten properly, seal any gap between the cable and plate.
 Use the approved termination kit materials (Follow the vendor installation instruction for the MV cable termination procedure)
 Following completion of the cable termination, submit " Request for Inspection" (RFI) to site QC Section including indicating scheduled time/ date for inspection.
7.0 TEST EQUIPMENT CONTROL

 The Commissioning Engineer / Supervisor shall carry out an inspection of the test equipment when the test equipment arrives in the warehouse. Each piece of the test equipment shall have the calibration labels intact. He shall ensure that test equipment manual is available and that the test equipment is calibrated, and calibration certificates are available. He will maintain a record with the test equipment serial numbers, date of calibration and copies of calibration certificates.
 The Commissioning Engineer shall ensure that test equipment that it is out of calibration is isolated in a quarantine zone and will be sent as soon as possible to a certified metrology laboratory for re-calibration against national standards.
 The Testing Technicians shall ensure that the test equipment is tested for proper operation before starting any test. Any defective test equipment will be isolated in a quarantine zone and sent as possible for repairs.
 QC Department shall conduct periodic checks on the test equipment to ensure all equipment is within the required calibration period.
The following test equipment will used to perform the tests.

TOOLS AND TESTIG EQUIPMENT

Cable cutter, Combination Plier, Cable Knife, Side Cutter, Wires Stripper, Screwdriver set, Crimping Tool, Terminal Clamp, Blow Torch, Torque wrench, Box Spanners Set, Adjustable wrench, Long Nose Plier, Knockout Tools, Digital Clamp meter, Digital multi meter, IR Tester, Heat Gun, PPE, Hi- Pot Test Kit Set.
8.0 CHECK LIST

 Following completion of cable splicing and terminations at both ends of cable(s), submit Request for Inspection" (RFI) to site QC Section including indicating scheduled time/ date for inspection and witness of the following Checks & Tests.
 The Testing Technician shall use the Arabian Arrows site test report form as a checklist and record the results of the testing. The form shall be the quality record document to identify that the inspection and testing has taken place.
