In this video, I give a year-by-year overview of a typical 5-year clinical psychology PhD program and describe what each year of my PhD program has entailed so far/what I expect going forward. I also review what a 6-7 year track tends to look like.
If you’re applying to graduate programs in clinical or counseling psychology or even a PsyD, this video may help you know what to expect as a doctoral student in psychology. Just remember that each program varies slightly! I recorded this video during the third year of my clinical psych PhD program, and now that I’m in my fourth year, so many details of my timeline have changed.
