Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., held a press conference with other conservative leaders to unveil legislation that would aim to prevent noncitizens from voting. Johnson admitted that it was already illegal for noncitizens to vote but that the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act would "safeguard our federal elections."
