Kilcullen’s fourth book is a survey of world events in 2014, and based on Russia’s conflict with Crimea, advances by ISIS in Iraq and Syria and the subsequent refugee crisis, he believes that global instability may be greater now than at any time since the Cold War. Kilcullen assesses the American role in these events and proposes ways to alleviate tensions.
