Jules Cooper made a significant change in 2010 when she relocated to Ynys Mon (Anglesey North Wales) and acquired a 6-acre field that was initially barren and compacted, serving as a grazing area for sheep.
However, she decided to transform the landscape by sending the sheep elsewhere and planting an impressive 5000 trees.
If you were to view the land from above, you would notice its unique shape resembling that of a seahorse, which stands out amidst the surrounding fields.
The introduction of these trees has had a remarkable impact on the biodiversity of the area, increasing the presence of various flora and fauna by tenfold. Woodcocks, jays, and dormice have found their new homes within the woodlands, while an abundance of woodland plants further enhances the enchanting atmosphere.
This picturesque setting has become an ideal location for foraging events, weaving workshops, and even wild camping. Adding to the charm, Jules' quaint cottage, which dates back to the 1600s, exudes a captivating and inviting magical energy. When the wood burner is lit, the cottage becomes incredibly cosy, providing the perfect space to unwind and savour nourishing food after a day of wildcrafting the land.
