Tesla is not the only one to benefit from the potential update to the EV tax credit legislation in discussion. GM and Ford are also propped to substantially benefit from proposed legislation that would expand the current $7,500 EV Tax Credit.

Just this week, we learned about the bipartisan agreement to the large infrastructure bill that has been in discussion for most of 2021. In this new agreement, EV tax credits are off of the table, for now.

Biden has signaled that any further green initiatives would need to look into the budget reconciliation process to progress.

That leaves us with the 2 most likely frameworks to be implemented or amended. The Green Act in the House and the Clean Energy Act in the Senate are the 2 most likely bills to be modified for vote.

With these 2 bills, Tesla, as well as others, are likely to see large benefits to their demand situation here in the United States. That said, until we have a finalized bill up for vote, it is impossible to know what will come of this in the end.
