although today's race was not the result i wanted, i gave it everything i had and could not be leaving with a fuller heart.
•
it was overwhelmingly beautiful to have so many people tell me i have had such an impact on their lives. it left me speechless. i don’t think I've ever cried so many tears of both joy and sadness at the same time.
•
crossing the line had given it everything I had, i was disappointed and in tears… but was immediately surrounded by so many who pulled me to my feet, hugged me, and reminded me of everything i have overcome these past four years and season. my tears of disappointment turned to tears of gratitude. getting a hug from my team hearing the words “you're more than your time and place” reminded me why i run—the people.

i want to thank everyone who came up to me today and has sent messages. i never realized how much of an impact sharing my story could have, but i’m forever thankful i’ve shared mine.

i could not have asked for a more beautiful, wholesome, and heartwarming ending to my last HS cross country season. 4A state runner-up with the effort i gave today is something i am proud of.

although this is an end of a chapter, it’s the beginning of an even better one
