Watch as I transform the small cabinets above the microwave (that nobody ever uses) into a faux vent hood! The best part is it only cost me $6! I challenged myself to use only materials that I had leftover from other projects. I ended up having to buy more joint compound but I'm still counting it as a win!
I also switched out the old black microwave for a new updated stainless steel model. Then I built a custom frame for the new faux vent hood and covered it in drywall. Next I covered the drywall in joint compound and sanded it smooth. Finally I tred a paint technique to look like plaster. Let me know how you think it turned out!
