To make your way to Paraty - we took the ferry to a mainland port town called Angra dos Reís https://goo.gl/maps/nxpXZsqjYBc2ze8BA
and from the port we made our way to the bus stop (just turn right and keep going) , NOT the bus station and here we waited to board a public bus to Paraty.

To get to Iguazu fall you need to fly to Foz do Iguaçu from Brazil.
If you are making your way from Argentina, you need to fly to Puerto Iguazu.
