Opened in 1906, the Hotel Alexandria was one of the most luxurious (Charlie Chaplin called it ""the swankiest hotel in town). Sadly, due to it's proximity to what would eventually be called Skid Row, and because it was overshadowed by the Biltmore Hotel constructed three years later, it soon lost its flavor. Notable for having an additional wing constructed that, following a dispute with the owners, was eventually entirely bricked off from the main building. Because of this, many claim the hotel to be haunted, with guests reporting strange energy at work. An 'angry teenage' supposedly haunts Charlie Chaplin's old room, and a 'Lady in Black' roams the hotel, supposedly in search of a lost lover. Despite the spooky experiences, numerous productions have decided to call this hotel home, including 'Spider Man,' 'Dreamgirls,' and more.
