I was asked to beta test the CP-01 from Creality: a three in one, modular 3D printer, laser engraver and CNC. No video was requested but I feel this machine appeals to many so here it is. This is not a review! My reviews test the full range of capabilities over a longer period of time. This is me testing the various features of the hardware and software to flag issues. Fortunately there weren’t too many.

The 3D printer side is great, the laser engraver works as expected, and the CNC engraver is capable when the feed rates are very slow. Dedicated machines for each of these purposes would be superior, but as an all in one machine for someone looking to get into the hobby, it might be a good choice.

There are safety considerations for this machine (like any other), so take wearing the safety glasses very seriously and do your reading and research before jumping in head first. Also beware of the providing adequate ventilation, and stick to timber as the fumes from other materials can be toxic.
