The M18 FUEL 4-1/2" - 6" Braking Grinder is Milwaukee's most powerful small angle grinder that Milwaukee claims will generate 13A corded power. Being a FUEL model, it comes with a brushless motor that delivers 9,000 RPM. As with the 4.5" FUEL angle grinder, the new 6" has an integrated Rapid Stop braking technology. This brake stops all accessories in 3 seconds or less. The power and runtime delivered by the M18 6.0 High Output batteries are very significant compared to the older batteries. Move up to the 12.0 Ah battery for the same power and more runtime! Tool-free accessory changes using the FIXTEC nut and guard adjustments mean less downtime during work.

Can this new grinder replace a corded grinder for most? It definitely will for smaller jobs, but for large agricultural and excavation jobs, cords still seem to make sense. With the 6.0 Ah battery, the average runtime while grinding was 6:30 minutes. If you drop back to smaller jobs that number goes up substantially. But when being pushed to the limit, the runtimes are still pretty light.

The runtimes would not scare us as the need for a cordless grinder is significant, even if we need to have a few batteries on hand. The power is awesome and right on par with the DEWALT FlexVolt. This is going to be a very popular tool for people who work with metal!
