Mobile Work Station - The New GEARWRENCH Mobile Work Station is one of the most versatile storage and work station's that we have ever reviewed.  GEARWRENCH specifically designed this work station from the ground up to help automotive techs and industrial mechanics organize and work in an area with little modification to the tool chest.  Since this workstation is meant to be mobile, GEARWRENCH started the platform on 6" tall and 2" wide ball bearing casters with grease zerks.  The mobile work station has a maximum capacity of over 2,000 pounds with 9 ball bearing slide drawers is rated at 100 pounds and 2 rated at 200 pounds. Bigger, tougher wheels allow for easier movement around the shop or facility floor, more so than any of the other guys.  The working area on the top is 33-3/8" wide and 24-1/4" deep and has a vise mount capability.  Near the drive handle is a built-in charging station with 6 outlets and 2 USB ports.  Below that is locking storage that is 22" wide, 23" tall and 5-1/4" deep. Pegboard is on each end in the open and lockable area for more storage.  GEARWRENCH has incorporated as many options possible for the end user to customize this workstation to fit them.

Build Quality
GEARWRENCH covered this workstation in a very impressive gloss black powder coat with orange and silver accents.  The thickness of the powder coat is not noticed until you start to dive deeper into the unit to see its structure and scrape some off.  Beyond the looks, the structure of the work station that can hold up to 2,500 pounds is much more solid that one would expect.  This unit was meant to be moved around and GEARWRENCH knows that there is no flat or smooth floor.  There would be no need for the 6" casters if this was not meant to travel everywhere needed.

The drawer slides are all ball bearing and slide very smooth even when overloaded in our test with John Deere weights.  Each drawer is held closed with small tabs on each side that are opened by lifting a small latch while opening the drawer.  This type of closure system is perfect for a mobile unit.  Many units have an autoclose system on them these days, but that system is not as secure while in motion.

There are multiple areas with a nutsert system allowing for hooks or other items to be bolted to the workstation.  Each of these areas is able to hold up to 35 pounds and can be customized easily by the mechanic to hold anything needed.

The storage is able to be locked and kept secure.  If one wanted to use the side storage for charging and storing batteries, a small home for plugs to access the power strip could be drilled.  This would secure batteries and items being charged overnight.
