We are constantly surrounded by the electromagnetic waves emitted from a number of fixed and mobile wireless devices nowadays. Emergence of IoT and Wireless Sensor Networks with applications ranging from communication to medicine and sports to infotainment has enhanced the level of public exposure to the electromagnetic fields multifold. Evolution of 5G has further increased the concerns of possible health hazards and resulted in a public uproar recently where cellular base stations were linked with COVID-19 spread. Study of human body exposure to radio frequency signals and evaluation of the electromagnetic energy absorption in the human body tissues is therefore, an important field of study. This talk will focus on exposure system design, numerical simulations and experimental testing of human users’ occupational and non-occupational exposure to assess the safety guidelines' compliance and possible health hazards.
