This is my third chat with Mitchell, who is one of my favorite artists.
I'm joined by some friends as Mitchell introduces us to his new work, Winslow Homer’s Croquet Challenge.
The work is a response to “The Croquet Players” by the American Painter Winslow Homer. And is the first work in his Beggar’s Belief series, which is planned as a multi-part series of interactive game-artworks that will be released over the next several years.
This art will show in an online exhibition organized by the Albright-Knox Art Gallery (aka the Buffalo AKG Art Museum) and curated by Tina Rivers Ryan. The Albright-Knox has historically been one of the most significant museums in America focused on contemporary art, and Tina Rivers Ryan is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading curators and champions of digital art.
