What’s good people?? Hope you’re all well!

In this weeks video, I am joined by my good friend Gaz who often lends a hand with all things GHQ. We took this job on with very little knowledge of it’s past or it’s condition; however, with it being one of the most recognised cars in the North East, and the fact it is an absolute insane motor, we decided to take it regardless.

I headed down earlier in the week to the owners house to take paint depth readings after finding out it was self-painted in his workshop, with the expectation of thin areas and many unfinished edges - how I was wrong. Plenty of paint, plenty of clear-coat, generally decent finishing work - the main thing to tackle was sanding marks and pigtails. Of course there was a few areas sanded and unfinished, but all in all, hats off to the owner for the work already put in.

So over to myself and Gaz, we prepped the paintwork after the wash stage, using Carpro’s IRONX and Autobrite’s tar remover before claying. The test panel was a success first time using Cartec’s Diamond Cut 3000 and refined with Carpro’s Essence. Gaz tackled the majority of the large panels using a 5” Lake Country microfibre cutting pad before refining with Lake Country’s 5” white pad, while I focussed on the 3” and 1” smaller areas. I then switched to Carpro’s Ultracut on the Rocket Bunny kit as I found I was getting a better cut on the sections that have had heavier contact (more than likely drifting injuries!).

The full car was corrected and all polish removed using the Jim White ‘tooth pickery’ method - although in the video and pictures it may look like polish residue in some tight sections, however, this is either paint chipped around the kit due to heavy contact or areas that cracked after the painting stage.

Gaz then coated the car in Alchemy ceramic infused wax - we went with this wax as the depth and ‘wet’ look you get with it is unreal! I dressed tyres and started to clear up ready for pics and final videos.

Please, please, PLEASE, if you enjoy this video, like it, comment on it, share it, and follow Gloss Headquarters on Facebook and Instagram. All the love helps my business grow and opens me up to so many more sick opportunities.

PEACE!
Sean - Gloss Headquarters.
