We hiked White Pocket again. This time we went further out but got stuck in the sand with my 4x4 truck and had to be rescued.

So first, how do you get there? Your phone directions will probably get you lost.
- You need to turn on House Rock road, going towards Vermillion Cliffs National Monument
- Make a right on Pine Tree rd (it's also called 1017)
- after some ways you will make a left onto 1087. Google Maps will tell you to keep going straight but you will end up in the middle of nowhere. So after you made a left, keep going and you will start seeing signs to White Pocket. Follow them.

You will see a parking lot. There is a road of 1/4 mile that you can drive or walk, but do not drive unless your truck is equipped for this! There is a sign warning you of the dangers, but I ignored it because in April the road didn't seem bad. I didn't know that due to rain, etc, the road was more packed down. We made it down, but not bac up and had to pay $800 to get pulled out.

Other than that, if you're prepared, you will love it!
Cell service is spotty - with Verizon and a new phone (iphone 13) I had excellent service. 2 months ago with same service but old phone I had so - so service. I had my mom and before my friend with T-Mobile and they had absolutely no service
As with any hiking in the heat, and in remote areas, make sure you have a gallon water person. You don't need to carry all this, you can have half in your vehicle, but you need to be prepared.
Also take food, because you need energy to hike.

I'm sure you know this, hiking boots are a must for any hikes. They have good traction, and keep your feet safe. Tennis shoes would not be safe here. Wear enough clothing, or enough with your to protect your from sunburn. I never go anywhere without a backpack, it hold my water (frozen and not frozen), food, keys, phone, power bank, phone charged, paper towels, a hat, etc.

If you hike with your dog, you should get a backpack for your doggie and have them carry their own water. Large breeds actually love working. I also got boots for her, they have pretty good traction (not quite as good as their natural pads, so if the ground gets very sleek, you might need to take them off, but here it wasn't like that.

All n all, it's a beautiful place, kind of an out-of this world experience. If you don't have the proper vehicle, you can hire guides to take you and give you a tour

Thank you for watching !
