Properly rolling your lawn helps achieve that essential contact, ensuring your new grass gets off to a great start. Rent a lawn roller or use your lawn tractor's weight to get the job done.

Step 6: No Need for a Cover: Contrary to conventional advice, we recommend skipping the use of peat moss or straw as a cover for your seed. If you've followed the previous steps, your existing grass should provide adequate coverage for germination.

Step 7: Proper Watering: Watering is the key to germination. Keep the seed consistently moist, without drowning it. Water 4 times a day for 5-7 minutes each time, adjusting to your irrigation system's specifications. Proper watering is vital for successful overseeding.
