This video is really a way for me to introduce myself! But in the process I built a sign for my logo, and hand-carved all of the details. No CNC machine! (I'd love to get one some day though).

This is a very personal project that is close to my heart if you can't tell. A lot of the things I do these days are motivated by my two boys. This shop and the knowledge that I can pass down with it means a lot to me when I think about what they might be able to do with it some day.

Details about the sign: Its poplar wood. I used a router to remove most of the material between letters and then hand-carved to the line with chisels and gouges. Then I painted it and used real gold leaf for the "yellow" parts.

Standard Disclaimer: Putting your soft, squishy fingers near powerful sharp spinning things is dangerous. I've been doing this for a while and I know what I'm doing but even I'm not invincible. I take a lot of safety precautions based on my level of experience and not all of them are shown on camera. Don't do anything you aren't comfortable with. If it makes you nervous you're probably doing it wrong. Don't do anything stupid. Reapply sunscreen often and floss before bed. Is anyone actually still reading this?
