THIS VIDEO:

This is our very first packing video! We headed to Florida for 3 weeks over the holidays - departing December 16 and arriving back home on January 8th. Our trip included 12 days at Disney World over two different "legs" and in between, we spent Christmas with our families, elsewhere in Florida. Our friend @jenn.maynard (subscribe to her channel!!) asked so kindly before we left for our vacation, if we could film a packing video, and we were more than happy to oblige!

Since I (Cate) had never really filmed a packing video before, I decided that I wanted to film ours documentary style, while also speaking direct to camera. I wanted to capture as many of my random thoughts while packing as possible (thought it might be cool to see the inner workings of the ADHD brain while trying to figure out complex tasks like organizing, decision-making and tetris-ing packing cubes into luggages!). Note that some of the audio might be a little quieter in some of those moments where I wasn't speaking direct to camera. I was definitely surprised at how much longer it took me to pack while filming a video at the same time, and while I had hoped to get this video out before we left on our trip... alas, it did not happen!

I believe it ended up taking me 4 days worth of packing to actually be fully ready for this trip. That sounds like a lot, but I was also doing it in between a fully booked client schedule, and mostly in the evenings (after the ADHD meds have worn off for the most part).

In the end, it all worked out well! I may have overpacked a little bit, and there were some items we definitely didn't use (to be fair, we didn't expect the weather in Florida to be SO cold, the entire time we were there!) but for the most part, we used the vast majority of everything I had packed!
I have ideas on how to pack even better next trip though - including using my Lounge Fly backpacks as their own packing cubes, which will definitely save a lot of space!
