Written and recorded in the blessed month of Ramadan 1445, April 2024 in Masjid Al Aqsa Sharif itself. We hope thereby to encourage people to visit the holy site and keep it populated to deter further incursions by the occupying forces.


Al Aqsa

Al-Aqsa is
Beyond wonder
It’s not just land
Bricks and mortar

It is sacred
Beyond limit
It joins both worlds
Body, spirit

Bait al-Maqdis
Tread careful here
Judgement’s plain will
Be opened here

Dome of the rock
How long you’ve been
The jewel that’s made
This skyline gleam

A thousand lives
Be sacrificed
In such manner
Your beauty priced

Lovers gladly
Give life for her
In her defence
They go further

Masjid Aqsa
Your ancient charm
Has driven men
To war and harm

If you should fall
Although we’d weep
We know that still
Your rank you’d keep

We but lament
Our own weakness
That on our watch
We showed meekness

But at your peak
You were levelled
The night Ahmad (s)
Heaven travelled

Like a pure slave
Ruined you stood
So, he upward
His journey could

We find comfort
When days are bleak
In future tales
Because we’re weak


That from the East
With flags of black
Real men will rise
To claim you back
