Before Friends, Matthew Perry starred in a short-lived sitcom on ABC called Home Free. He played a 22-year-old newspaper reporter named Matt Bailey who still lived with his widowed mother. Matt's carefree life was turned upside down when his divorced sister and her two kids moved back home. Home Free debuted in March 1993 to brutal reviews and only ran for 11 episodes.

This scene is from the second episode ("Front Page," originally broadcast Monday, April 7, 1993). In it, Matt confronts his friend Walter (played by Dan Schneider) and pushes him to meet with his father, who abandoned him as a child. It's not a funny scene but it gives a young Matthew Perry a chance to shine.
