Most German cars use rubber brake caliper pin bushings in the pursuit of a more luxurious driving experience. These rubber bushings allow for some flex between the caliper and the guide pins which will dampen the brake application and hinder enthusiastic driving. The solution is to replace the rubber with brass. This is a very easy upgrade that, when implemented within a more holistic brake upgrade, can contribute to a much better performing brake system.

The ones I chose, which are held in by a snap ring, are great for track only vehicles or those that don't mind a bit of extra maintenance because they do not protect the caliper pin grease from the elements. As a result, they need to be re-greased somewhat regularly. ECS Tuning offers a solution that does protect from the elements, but they are a permanent install and more expensive. These calipers will be replaced within a year; so, I went for the much cheaper option just to test the concept. They do seems to improve brake pedal feel, and if you really enjoy driving your car, I would recommend them.
