In the midst of Tropical Storm Hilary, I ventured into Death Valley National Park to experience the driest place in North America during this historic weather event. A year’s worth of rain ended up falling in 24 hours; this is the first tropical storm to hit California in 85 years, and I was able to see the dramatic effects this storm had on the landscape.
