When Arthur Evans, a British archaeologist decided to explore the Minotaur's Island, believed to be Crete, he discovered the Minoans, an ancient civilization. Little is known about the Minoans, but they were avid traders, trading luxury goods like purple dye, fostering their reputation and economic prosperity. The Minoans also constructed enormous labyrinthine buildings, potentially inspired by the countries they visited while trading, creating the inspiration for the Minotaur's labyrinth.
