The 2030 Agenda will not be achieved without the active involvement of local governments in the implementation of all 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Barcelona backed the 2030 Agenda right from the start and is taking the lead in the promotion, implementation, and monitoring of its fulfillment, in alliance with the civil society and key urban multi-stakeholders. This session seeks to present some of the initiatives Barcelona is leading, as well as to discuss what are the key challenges and opportunities of cities partnering up with other stakeholders (international organizations, academia, private sector) in order to carry out global sustainability agendas.
