After riding a non-electric mountain bike for the first time in six years, Steve Jones wondered if a traditional MTB could outpace an eMTB downhill. While the eBike undeniably holds an advantage uphill due to the motor, Steve pondered whether the added weight of the battery and motor might provide an unexpected advantage on descents, or will the agility of a standard MTB prevail. To settle this, Steve decided to race his Canyon Strive:ON against the Pivot Firebird down a challenging Black trail in Finale Ligure.
