40,000km update after this mod    • THE CORRECT PCV mod 40,000km Result -...   As a followup to my video earlier today about my Alloytec PCV cleaning Maintenance for HFV6 3.6L LY7    • Alloytec PCV Location Service & Maint...   and after a few comments I learned that there are specific hole sizes to the mod to increase the hole size on the PCV valve to allow the engine to breathe better this really applies to any GM 3.6L V6 also known as HFV6 (high feature v6) which is used in Australia in Commodore, Rodeo, Camaro, Cadillac, Equinox, Captiva and other models and ranges that used the GM 2.8L 3.0L 3.2L and 3.6L ALLOYTEC LF1 LFW LY7 LLT engines as far as I am aware LFX received the fix for this in the mid of 2013 (could be 2014 in some parts of the world) from the factory.

From some googling some reports that bottom holes are 1.5mm and 2mm with a 3mm top hole, while others say both bottoms are 2mm and the top is 3mm previously I used the 3.5mm top and 2mm bottom which resulted in quite an increase in oil return into the intake, so I decided to grab another PCV Valve I had laying around today and did 1.5mm, 2mm bottoms and 3mm top, reinstalled and see what the outcome might be like in a few month time as now I know I have a healthy engine in my Adventra.

I do not wish to install a catch can, so if this mod returns oil I will revert, but if it doesn't and the PCV Valve collects I might pull the PCV Valve again and try to go larger on the holes again by 0.5mm - also after checking my drill bits are the correct size as I have a feeling my 1.5mm isn't the right size (which I realised later when comparing my holes to other pictures around on the internet).
