In this series I take a look back at my trailer work and share with you a little bit of the creative process.

I made this trailer for Frying Dory back in mid 2016. I had massive success with my trailer for Inside Out 2 so I knew I wanted to create another effects heavy video.

This one took me around a month and was a surprisingly quick edit. A lot of the narrative was forced through mixing vision from Ratattoille with an overlayed Dory placed into a fishbowl.

I sourced audio for this one from the cooking segments Ellen Degeneres (the voice of Dory) holds on her daytime talk show.

Anytime you're working with animated videos you're forced to focus on the editing process. Since there is limited source material, that means a lot of masking, adding backgrounds, overlaying images and recording new voices.

With this video I worked in reverse. I knew what my final gag was going to be, and then I built the introduction around that.

I'm happy with the finished product (especially the big reveal gag).
