A “blocking” pattern will continue across the U.S. Friday, with some improvements in air quality for the eastern U.S.

A large upper-level low pressure system will swirl over New England. Scattered showers will be possible across the Northeast with better chances for rain showers and storms during the afternoon and evening hours.

There will still be wildfire smoke across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic but significant improvements in air quality are expected for places like Philadelphia and New York as this low pressure system pushes smoke east and south.
In the Southeast, the typical sea breeze will bring showers and thunderstorms to Florida but an additional disturbance could help storms form in Georgia and South Carolina as well. https://www.facebook.com/reel/2235531...
