The sixth generation of the CR-V debuts later this year with a bolder appearance and class-leading levels of practicality, combined with exceptional connectivity and comfort. The popular C-segment SUV will be available with either a full hybrid (e:HEV) or, for the first time in Europe, a plug-in hybrid (e:PHEV) powertrain, delivering dynamic performance and efficiency across the range – and in the case of the latter, up to 50 miles of all-electric range.

Behind its new design, the latest CR-V is now wider, longer, and taller than the outgoing model – with its 40mm longer wheelbase helping to create more interior space, including 16mm more rear legroom and an 18 per cent increase in luggage capacity.

Greater road presence is offered by a more aggressive front-end, distinguishing e:HEV and e:PHEV variants by their own exclusive grille design. The thin headlights and new signature daytime running lights combine to enhance this visual appeal further, while at the rear, the vertical brake light and turn signal combination is a smart upgrade of the instantly recognisable CR-V taillight design.

In addition, this will be the first European model to feature Honda SENSING 360; an omnidirectional safety and driver assist system which removes blind spots around the vehicle. This contributes to collision avoidance and alleviates driver burden, making it the next step in Honda’s bold ambition to bring traffic collision fatalities involving its automobiles and motorcycles to zero by 2050.

The new hybrid-electric powered 2024 CR-V Sport-L 2WD ($36,350 MSRP) joins the lineup between the turbocharged CR-V EX-L and range-topping Sport Touring hybrid model. The well-equipped CR-V Sport-L features leather seats, a power passenger seat, front and rear parking sensors and a power tailgate. A 9-inch touchscreen with a physical volume knob, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, Qi-compatible 15W wireless smartphone charging, an 8-speaker audio system and Low Speed Braking Control are also standard.

Bold gloss black exterior accents, rectangular exhaust finishers and Berlina Black 18-inch wheels add style and presence. For better traction management in all driving conditions, Honda's award-winning Real Time All-Wheel Drive with Intelligent Control™ is available.

CR-V hybrid models represent a key step in the Honda electrification strategy. More than 50% of CR-V sales are hybrid-electric models featuring Honda's advanced 4th-generation two-motor hybrid system. Combined system output is 2044 hp and 247 lb.-ft. of torque for a fuel-efficient, sporty and capable driving experience.

Moreover, the hybrid powertrain brings a major fuel economy rating increase compared to the 1.5L Turbo powertrain, with an EPA city rating of 43 mpg in the city for Sport and Sport-L versus 28 mpg for EX/EX-L, and a combined rating of 40 mpg for Sport and Sport-L versus 30 mpg for EX/EX-L (all with 2WD).

Speaking to the importance of CR-V in the Honda lineup, the 6th-generation CR-V is built in three plants in North America*, including the East Liberty Auto Plant in Ohio, the Indiana Auto Plant, and Honda of Canada Mfg., continuing the 40-year legacy of Honda's commitment to build products close to the customer. Since 2006, Honda has produced more than 5 million CR-Vs in North America, with roughly half of those built in the U.S.
