In this episode I experiment with electrolysis as a means of rust removal. I predict that I'm probably going to be dealing with plenty of rust in the coming months, so I'm playing with different ideas on how to get rid of it. Electrolysis rust removal consists of sending an electric current through the rusty part submerged in an electrolytic solution. The rust particles pick up an electric charge, dislodging themselves from the main piece and then getting attracted to a sacrificial piece of steel. Since these exhaust headers are such an exotic shape, rather than sanding I thought I'd give electrolysis a go!

Make sure to show your mates what I did in this video:

32Builds is a channel to showcase the progress and techniques I will use on my Datsun 1200 restoration project. I post videos on my build projects, various how to's as well as footage of events that I visit. My aim is to show you that with enough passion and persistence, anything is achievable.

Why 32? The number 32 is pronounced 'san-nii' in japanese, sounding like Sunny. This channel was birthed on the build progress of my 1976 Datsun Sunny pick-up. To checkout the full playlist of the build progress, check out the link below!
