CEM Engineering, partnered with Peoples Gas, Florida’s largest natural gas distribution utility, to engineer, procure equipment, and construct the RNG facility. This forward-thinking initiative is set to make a significant impact in the region’s renewable energy sector. The newly unveiled RNG facility is expected to generate an impressive 105,000 MMBtu of RNG annually, equivalent to powering approximately 4,400 homes for a year. This breakthrough technology will utilize waste produced by approximately 9,000 cows at Alliance Dairies, capturing it and transforming it into pipeline-quality natural gas. By doing so, harmful methane emissions that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere are effectively curbed, contributing to improved air quality and reduced greenhouse gas effects.
