We review the LG C1 OLED TV, trying to work out if it's a smarter purchase than the more expensive G1 Gallery Series with OLED Evo technology.

Topics covered (mostly related to picture quality):

0:00 Will C1 get close enough to G1?
1:16 Uniformity (both bright & dark)
1:56 Near-black handling
2:25 Colour accuracy
3:13 Motion performance
6:15 Video processing including upscaling
7:05 HDR peak brightness
8:51 Gaming including input lag
11:39 HDMI 2.1 ports & bandwidth
12:17 Summary

The retail unit we reviewed was the 55-inch LG OLED55C1 (model number OLED55C16LA), but it's also available in 48-inch (OLED48C1), 65-inch (OLED65C1), 77-inch (OLED77C1) and 83-inch (OLED83C1) screen sizes.

When we asked LG back in February 2021, the company said that all C1 OLEDs - including those carrying the newer, more efficient panel - will be tuned to deliver a consistent performance across the model range.

This video was graded and uploaded in HDR10, and so is best viewed on an HDR display.
