With 30 years of experience providing pastoral care for inmates, staff and families, Margaret shares insight into her role as a Prison Chaplain.

"All my life I was aware that I have always been concerned for the underdog. As I started to go into the prison and meet with women and stand in solidarity with them and feel helpless to be able to help them, but just to listen to them and then have them come back to me and say "Thank you for listening," has been something that's really touched my heart.

And that's pastoral care; to be present with them, as somebody that listens to them, contacts family, whatever I can do in the moment, whatever is needed. It's all part of pastoral care."
