Let’s cover our bases:
5.0 coyote v8 - cross plane crank - it’s a great engine
460 hp and 420 lb-ft
The important thing though, is I have the automatic
Aww boo he doesn’t have a manual in a Mustang what’s wrong with him???
Well the Getrag gearbox is pretty terrible and through it you lose like 60 hp
That power goes through the trac-Lok (clutch pack) LSD that’s standard on all S550s
In this generation in 2015 Ford gave the Mustang IRS or indep rear susp
Because the ride and dynamics were crap

Now in the PP2 version of this car you can get magnetic dampers and sticky tires and that really transforms the car to something truly sporty

But there’s something we havent talked about yet - this is the convertible. It’s got a soft top

And unless you want to fit a roll cage in this it’s not like you’re taking it to the track so you don’t need the mag ride or Pilot sport tires or brake upgrades.

You probably care more about the experience of simply having a powerful, fast, V8 sound unencumbered by such silly things as a roof.

And it’s for that reason, that experience of ruckus V8 sound and the car not taking itself too seriously that this comparison makes sense.

Because experience, over performance is exactly what that LC is about t oo

So let me touch briefly on the experience.

At the end of the day I could take home 2 of these for what that LC costs and when you close your eyes you get a similar experience, but I’m pretty sure that’s illegal

So you see the Ford interior, you feel the shifter and wheel, and the suspension isn’t as refined as those mag dampers.

We’ll get into some more of that on the interior and exterior, but ultimately it just doesn’t feel as special as the LC...but it shouldn’t at half the price!

To level set I think its important to understand that the LC500 is a Grand Touring car, not a sports car.
Yes, it has attributes that of a true sports car, a mean and powerful V8 making 471HP that can rocket the LC to 60 in an impressive 4.6 seconds.

But Lexus didn't prioritize speed and performance over comfort and amenities. This truly is your grandfather's cruiser. That mustang is for the immature, the individuals that think its all about power figures and burn outs. This is for the more refined, its elegant and its serious.

Steering response is snappy, and this massive front end does a nice job of turning into the corners with an eagerness that makes me question whether or not this thing really weighs over 4,450 pounds (it does BTW)

Unfortunately this doesnt doesnt have the rear steering capabilities like its twin coupe but again

The ride is quite stiff, and pot holes are this cars worst nightmare.

Lexus fits a 10-speed automatic that works quite well. there are certain times, at specific speeds and RPMs this thing feels like an absolute bullet when I put my foot down, but other times, I’ll put my foot down and it feels like 280 HP, feels like it doesn't always drop to the lowest gear it possibly can sometimes.
Outside of that Downshifts happen quickly and are accompanied by throttle blips to eliminate any driveline jolts from upsetting the rear end. An added benefit of those engine blips is the sound of the V-8.

Trying to slow this 2 ton LC also takes about 168 feet from 70 mph —a figure that's competitive with family sedans, not high-dollar two-plus-two roadsters.

The sound system in here is fantastic, 918-watt, 13-speaker Mark Levinson audio system.

Lately, sometimes, if I drive more aggressively in Sports+ mode, it will hold gears a bit longer and downshift at higher RPMs, but only if I’m driving more aggressive, I wish Sports + was like that all the time. I mean its the most sporty setting this thing has, i want it to feel like that.

Sure some enthusiasts might definitely want something sportier, but if you bought this car, i don't think anyone would question your motives, Beauty needs no explanation.

Mustang
It’s a mustang - there’s a million of them on the road, some with 4 bangers
In 2018 they made the eyes droopy
Long hood, vents - even in the 4 banger
5.0 badge
Black GT decking
Quad exhaust so upgraded exhaust which is what we talk about “experience”

Lexus
The proportions on this car are just insane.
Massive Hood
21 inch wheels
Quite wide
Very long doors
Its a very modern simplistic design all the way around. Love the Headlights and Taillights.
Door Handles are quite unique and fun.
I personally don't love how much extra room a convertible requires in the back half of the car. Its too long behind the back window, thats where I would opt for a coupe, I think they just look better personally.
