In the 2023 Toyota hybrid showdown, the all-new Prius faces off against the Corolla Hybrid, which introduces all-wheel drive (AWD) for the first time. Previously, AWD was exclusive to pricier Toyota SUV hybrids, but both these models now offer it as a $1400 option. While the Prius remains a hybrid powerhouse with nearly 200 horsepower due to its combined electric motors, the Corolla Hybrid trails with 138 horsepower. Both vehicles, despite differing engine sizes (2.0 liter for Corolla and 1.8 liter for Prius), maintain their AWD option without a boost in power or torque. However, while there's a slight dip in fuel efficiency with AWD, both models still boast unmatched efficiency in their segment.
