In this video I explain Diana Baumrind's four parenting styles. Diana Bamrind theorised that parenting could be put on a continuum of responsiveness and demandingness.

This theory is part of the attachment series and helps to explain attachment from the point of view of the parent. Remember being perfect / authoritative all the time is unattainable, be kind to yourself parents, you will have bad days, days you get frustrated, days you lose track of attunement and this is ok. As long as you're aiming for good practice and creating a caring and supportive environment you're doing great!
