The Cup Game is a great way for young people to build a foundational understanding of: fact families, number bonds, addition, and subtraction in a fun, problem solving game. This hands-on, play-based activity increases a young person's number sense because of the high engagement in analysis to figure out what's been hidden on them - everyone loves to uncover a mystery! This is a great game for preschool, transitional kindergarten, kindergarten, and 1st grade. But it can be modified for upper grades as well. For your lesson plan, have the students plug the numerals into the fact family house or triangle as they go.
