IOIAFCAST #7

The Rhoyne one of the main rivers of Essos. The south part of it becomes so wide that one in the middle of the river cannot see the shores. The modern Rhoyne is scattered with the ruins of ancient Rhoynar cities destroyed by the Valyrians. The Rhoyne is also plagued with pirates, as is also home to giant turtles known as the old men of the river. The Rhonish wars were said to have been sparked when the Valyrians killed one of these animals, who were sacred to the Rhoynar.
