Based loosely on fact, the film tells the story of Wild West outlaws Robert LeRoy Parker, known as Butch Cassidy, and his partner Harry Longabaugh, the “Sundance Kid”, who are on the run from a crack US posse after a string of train robberies.

Butch and Sundance are the leaders of the Hole-in-the-Wall Gang. Butch is all ideas, Sundance is all action. The West is becoming civilized, and when Butch and Sundance rob one train too many, a special posse begins trailing them. Over rock, through towns, across rivers, the law is always right on their tail. When they finally escape through sheer luck, Butch has another bright idea: “Let’s go to Bolivia.” One of cinema’s most memorable “buddy” films, it won four Oscars, including one for the popular theme song, “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head,” by Burt Bachrach and Hal David.
