Song: Ъпсурт feat. Mala Rodriguez - Втора цедка

This edit is focused on the involvement of Bulgarian forces during their deployments in both Iraq and Afghanistan respectively.

Whilst Bulgarians were serving in Iraq, the Bulgarian Army was part of the Multinational force in Iraq between May of 2003 and December of 2008. Bulgarian troops were initially stationed at Al Diwaniyah and suffered many combat losses, consequently resulting in the withdrawal of these troops in late 2005. Afterwards, non-combatant troops were stationed to guard Camp Ashraf. During the period between 2003 to 2008, Bulgaria sent a total of 485 soldiers.

As NATO advanced into Afghanistan to combat the rise of terrorism in the region, which was a result of organisations like the Taliban and Al-Qaeda, Bulgaria deployed and maintained a 608-man force as part of ISAF (International Security Assistance Force).

It is difficult to explain enough information as many operations that the Bulgarian Army undertook are still kept as classified; and as the country wasn't as well known in Afghanistan as their US and British counterparts, information can be scarce.

Thank you for watching!
