What caused the SS Eastland disaster? It's not an easy answer; there were several things that led up to its demise, including overloading of passengers and modifications that decreased its draft and made the ill-riding ship to be too top-heavy. But as we'll learn from Captain Darrell, the Titanic also played a roll...specifically from legislation that came on the other side of the sinking of the Titanic. We'll dive in during this final episode of the Eastland disaster...and we'll also share some other interesting stories, including Mutiny on the Eastland and the ship's afterlife in the United State Navy...all that and so much more.
