Each year on April 22 people around the world celebrate Earth Day.

It started in the United States in 1970, and has since grown to become the largest secular day of protest in the world, according to earthday.org.

And while Earth Day has clearly had an impact on various laws and policies, as well as environmental awareness, some people are questioning it’s relevance and impact today.

So what Exactly is Earth Day, what has it accomplished, and can it do more?
