This video is an in-depth look at how aggregate (limestone) goes from the ground (or quarry) to being laid and compacted on roadways. This video follows the stone through the crushing and screening process, undergoing quality control testing, and then being fed through an asphalt plant. The finished product (hot-mix asphalt) is then shown being laid and compacted onto a roadway.
Most of this video footage was acquired in central Kentucky.
