How do API's work? You hear about API's a lot, but what are they? What impact to APIs make for the day to day internet user? API's (Application Program Interface) are actually quite simple. You can use them as building blocks to speed up the process of making your own app. But API's also are used to share one part of a platform (like Google Maps) with other apps (like Yelp, Uber, etc).
