Sky News host Sharri Markson can exclusively reveal former Home Affairs Secretary Mike Pezzullo is set to be stripped of his Order of Australia.

The distinguished public servant was sacked by Anthony Albanese for sending text messages to a friend of Liberal Prime Ministers Malcolm Turnbull and Scott Morrison.

“There was no corruption or criminality involved,” Ms Markson noted.

“Yet, I have learnt that there are now procedural steps in hand to strip Mr Pezzullo of his AO.

“Mr Pezzullo has been made aware of this move.”
