Panelist profiles:
Aniruddha (Anu) Hazra is an Assistant Professor in the Section of Infectious Diseases and Global Health at the University of Chicago and Director of STI Services at the Chicago Center of HIV Elimination. His research centers around sexually transmitted infections and their impact on sexual and gender minorities as well as other vulnerable populations living on the South Side of Chicago. These interests are complemented by his clinical work in complex HIV management, PrEP care, Hepatitis C management, gender affirming hormone therapy, high resolution anoscopy, treatment of opioid use disorder, as well as medical education. Above all else, he is passionate about the equitable delivery of healthcare to LGBTQ people of color.

Brinelle D’souza is currently the Chairperson, Centre for Health and Mental Health at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Her areas of expertise are public health, health rights, marginalization and health and health activism. She has directed projects at the state and national level in collaboration with several United Nations agencies. Brinelle also has rich experience in humanitarian work and is deeply engaged with issues of secularism, communal harmony, interreligious dialogue, and gender justice. Brinelle is the West India Coordinator of the Justice Coalition of Religious (JCoR), a group of NGOs that are accredited to collectively represent over 200 congregations of Roman Catholic women and men Religious at the United Nations. She is the Co-Convener of Jan Swasthya Abhiyan, Mumbai and a member of the National Coordination Committee, JSA-India. She is a member of the State Mentoring Committe , Community Action For Health , Government of Maharashtra.

Prabha S. Chandra is a Professor of Psychiatry at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore, India. She studied medicine at the Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi and did her psychiatric training at NIMHANS. She has championed for the development of maternal mental health services in India and has set up the first dedicated perinatal psychiatric service in a public health setting including a Mother Baby inpatient psychiatric unit. She is President Elect of the International Association of Women’s Mental Health and has served as a Temporary Advisor to the WHO and UNAIDS. Her main areas of interest are women’s mental health, perinatal psychiatry, teaching methods, ethics and palliative care. She has published widely in the areas of women’s mental health, the mental health impact of partner violence and perinatal psychiatry including editing several books. She has been an investigator in several research projects and is currently the PI of the Bangalore Child Health and Development urban cohort of mother child dyads.
